Japan remembers 2011 earthquake and tsunami: in photos

People can be seen praying for victims of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan, in this photo taken on Sunday 10 March 2013, during a temporary visit to Namie town. It is inside the no-go zone around the tsunami-crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. With a minute of silence, tolling bells and prayers, Japan will on Monday mark the second-year anniversary of the disaster that killed thousands of people and set off a nuclear crisis that shattered public trust in atomic power and the nation's leaders - as the following pictures will show.

Thousands of protesters marched in the Japanese capital calling on the government to shun nuclear power, a day before the second anniversary of a disaster that triggered the world's worst atomic disaster in 25 years.
