Vhong Navarro's legal counsel Atty. Alma Mallonga questions inconsistencies in Deniece Cornejo's rape complaint againt the actor-host. "In her first sworn statement, she categorically declared that nothing happened when Vhong visited her on the night of January 17, because in fact she was waiting for a friend. She’s in one part of the room and Vhong was in the living room in this very small condo. And when it became apparent that her friend would not arrive anymore, she told Vhong to leave very firmly. And that Vhong joked about it but he left and nothing happened," says Atty. Mallonga when asked to comment about Deniece's claim that Vhong raped her on two different occasions.
Nakatakdang magsampa ang kampo ni Vhong Navarro ng reklamong perjury at libel laban kay Deniece Cornejo, dahil diumano sa patuloy na pagpapakalat ng mga ito ng kasinungalingan laban sa actor-TV host.
Diin ni Atty. Alma Mallonga, legal counsel ni Vhong, “She has perjured herself effectively, three times.
“The first time was when she filed a rape complaint and said that Vhong raped her and the evidence shows it is not true.
“Secondly, she perjured herself again when she asserted that rape happened to support her petition for a protection order with the RTC [Regional Trial Court] in Taguig.
“The third time was when she asserted the falsehood that on January 17, a rape occurred, when in all her previous allegations she has categorically said nothing of that sort happened because she sent Vhong away.
“Given the consistency of her lying about this, how can she be believed at all?”

CONFLICTING SWORN STATEMENTS. Ang pahayag ni Atty. Mallonga ay kaugnay ng sinumpaang salaysay ni Deniece na isinumite niya sa Department of Justice noong February 21.
Dito ay inilahad ni Deniece na dalawang beses diumano siyang hinalay ni Vhong sa loob ng kanyang condo unit sa Forbeswood Heights, Taguig City.
Naganap umano ang seksuwal na pang-aabuso sa dalaga sa magkahiwalay na okasyong nagkita sila ni Vhong—noong gabi ng January 17 at January 22.
Taliwas ito sa complaint affidavit na isinumite ni Deniece sa Taguig Prosecutor’s Office noong January 29, kunsaan walang anumang nabanggit ang dalaga na hinalay siya ni Vhong nang puntahan siya nito sa tinutuluyan niyang condo unit noong gabi ng January 17.
Kuwento pa ni Deniece, halos hindi sila nakapagkuwentuhan ni Vhong dahil abala siya sa pagtatrabaho at nakatutok sa kanyang laptop, habang ang actor-host naman ay umiinom ng alak sa maliit na sala ng condo.
“During this time, I was still preoccupied with some work and did not join Kuya Vhong in the living area, which is why he commented to me, ‘Ano ba 'yan… magkikita tayo 'tapos trabaho nang trabaho. Hindi ka nag-e-entertain ah.’
