Eight days after revealing that they will be offering the iPad Air and the iPad mini with Retina display, Globe Telecom and Smart Communications have finally announced the December 16 availability of the Apple tablets.
The devices are all WiFi + Cellular variants and are bundled with data plans.

Globe offers the iPad Air for as low as P1,624 monthly at Plan 499 with P1,125 monthly cashout over a 24-month contract period. The iPad mini with Retina display goes for as low as P1,499 monthly at Plan 499 with the same monthly cashout and lock-in period.

Smart's most affordable offers for the Apple iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina display, on the other hand, are under SMART iPad Plan 1499 with P5,000 and P1,000 one-time fees, respectively.

If you're always in areas where Smart's LTE—or even 3G—connection is stronger, we recommend that you pick Smart. Otherwise, choose Globe. Its plans are more attractive; they already include 85 hours of LTE surfing, 20 hours more than its competitor’s offer.
