Jennifer Lopez wants to wear same dress, says Kristel
MANILA - Former SexBomb Girls member Kristel Moreno said she cried over comments on the outfit she wore to the recent Star Magic Ball, explaining that it was not her or the designer's intention to scandalize at the star-studded event as some have alleged.
Speaking with ABS-CBN News' Mario Dumaual on Thursday, Moreno said she initially shrugged off the criticisms she got shortly after the ball held last Saturday at Makati Shangri-La hotel.
"Sa totoo lang po, parang 'di ko pa siya pinapansin. Ako pa 'yung nagsasabi sa mga kasama ko, 'Hayaan niyo na, huwag niyo na pansinin,'" said Moreno, who is a member of Star Magic Batch 16.
The 23-year-old dancer added: "Pero kinabukasan, pag-uwi ko, hindi ko napigilan, eh. Kahit paano, ang sakit, naiyak talaga ako. Kasi 'yung ibang comments, parang, sobra naman. Hindi na itsura ko 'yung nilalait, pagkatao ko na, na hindi naman nila ako kakilala."
Moreno said she wanted to avoid reading feedback on her dress, including lists online naming her as one of the "worst-dressed" at the ball. However, Moreno said she was tagged in a post from a new Facebook account apparently made to lead her to one such page.
"Pag open ko, nandoon po lahat. Nandoon lahat," she said. "Okay lang 'yung sinasabi nila na may bilbil, mataba, opinyon po nila 'yun, eh. Wala naman akong magagawa."
"Sa akin lang, medyo foul 'yung iba na parang personal na masyado. Hindi na gown o hindi na itsura ko 'yung pinupuna nila," the aspiring actress added.
'SORRY KUNG MAY NALASWAAN'
According to Moreno, her see-through gown was made by Hollywood-based Filipino designer Rocky Gathercole, who has dressed up pop star Katy Perry, among others.
Defending Gathercole's design, Moreno said the outfit she wore was recently shipped to American performer Jennifer Lopez after the latter saw a photo of it online. According to Moreno, Lopez told Gathercole that she wants to have it custom-fit for her in time for an upcoming concert.
In her red-carpet interview, Moreno candidly shared she was not wearing any undergarment, when asked about her exposed cleavage and leg.
"Nung sumagot naman ako [sa mga komento], sabi ko, 'Sorry, kung hindi niyo nagustuhan 'yung itsura ko, pero wala kaming intensyon na...' Kasi sabi nung iba, binaboy daw 'yung Star Magic Ball," she said. "Sorry kung may nalaswaan doon sa damit. Hindi naman namin intensyon na gano'n 'yung iparating sa kanila."
Admittedly, Moreno said some of her photos at the ball do not look flattering. She lamented that these were the ones that circulated online, instead of photos where the dress appeared to complement her figure.
"Hindi naman po ako magpapaka-plastic. Pangit naman po talaga 'yung picture na lumabas, pero hindi lang naman iyon 'yung picture," she said. "Siyempre, sa akin, ang dami naming kopya nung okay na picture, pero still, hindi ko masisisi 'yung mga tao kung 'yung pangit 'yung nakita nila."
Moreno added: "Thank you, at least napansin niyo ako, kaysa hindi."
