MANILA -- Actor-singer Sam Concepcion lauded teen heartthrob Daniel Padilla for owning up to his mistake in relation to the so-called "audio scandal," which also involves actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith.
In the audio clip, which is being circulated online, Padilla is heard saying he was excited about having received a text message from Concepcion's girlfriend. Padilla has since confirmed it was indeed his voice on the audio recording.
"I'm glad he knows his mistake. He was good enough to admit. 'Yun nga naiintindihan ko naman. Kasi siyempre kapag bata ka minsan marami kang nasasabi na hindi mo namamalayan," Concepcion said in an interview with ABS-CBNNews.com on Wednesday.
The singer said what is important is that he and Curtis-Smith are fine, as he denied that their relationship was affected because of the controversy.
"Wala namang kinalaman si Jas, walang kinalaman sa nangyari. Siguro barkadahan lang na nag-uusap at minsan may mga ganoong bagay ka na nasasabi," Concepcion said.
The actor-singer stressed he has nothing against Padilla.
"If we're very close, siguro mas maiinis pa ako. Pero things like these, you just learn to shrug it off and just brush it off. Hindi ko naman isyu ito, I think it's an issue of his character. Wala naman sa akin," he said.
Asked for his advise to Padilla, Concepcion said: "He just has to be more careful. Minsan kahit mga kaibigan niya 'yung mga kausap niya. ... siyempre minsan with the words that we say sometimes, we have to be accountable for it and we have to careful."
