MARCOS'S SON GOES TO OXFORD

Bongbong Marcos with son, Joseph Simon
IT is probably the best birthday gift for Sen. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, who will turn 57 today, Saturday. His second son, Joseph Simon, 18, has been accepted to Oxford University in England.
“I still can't believe it,” Marcos told ABS-CBN News in an email message sent Friday night.
His son, 18-year-old Simon, will fly to London on Monday, Sept. 15, for his Oxford schooling. He will take up Business Management.
Marcos, his wife, lawyer Liza Araneta, and their children are now in Ilocos Norte to celebrate the senator's birthday with relatives and loyal supporters.
Marcos himself went to Oxford where he took up Political Science, Philosophy and Economics from 1975 to 1978. So did his eldest Ferdinand Alexander, 20, who is now working in Manila.
Joseph Simon first went to Worth Abbey in England in 2006.
“He was sent to a boarding school when he was 11 years because his elder brother Sandro was already studying there at that time. His younger brother, Vincent. also entered at the age of 11,” Marcos said.
All the three Marcos children loved Worth Abbey because it reminded them of Harry Potter, the movie.
Except for his surname, Simon is a regular guy.
“He likes playing football. He takes guitar lessons during his free time & likes jamming with friends when he’s in Manila,” the father said.
