DANIEL MATSUNAGA WANTS TO BE A NATURALIZED FILIPINO

Brazilian-Japanese model and Pinoy Big Brother All In Big Winner Daniel Matsunaga wants to obtain Filipino citizenship through naturalization.

Daniel also intends to convince his family in Brazil to live in the Philippines.

“I’m planning to bring my whole family here. I want to stay here for the rest of my life,” says the 25-year-old actor.

“I’m just waiting for my father to retire from his job. He said maybe after two years,” he disclosed on the September 4 episode of Tapatan Ni Tunying.

The model, who is also a professional football player, says he wants to join Azkals to play for the Philippines.

“I’ll try to enroll in Azkals. I really want to be part of it. Every opportunity that God has given me in the Philippines is amazing. I never had this in my entire life so I really love this country,” says.

Amid criticisms that he did not deserve to win ABS-CBN's reality show PBB All In because of his citizenship, Daniel reiterates that he considers himself a true Filipino.

“We can’t choose where we are born, but we choose where we belong. I’ve been living here for five years. I’m a Filipino,” he insists.

He also quips, “If it’s needed for me to have a drop of Filipino blood, I am willing to get it from Makati Med. My heart really belongs here.”

UPCOMING PROJECTS. In a separate interview with ABS-CBN News, Daniel revealed that he will be part of two movies included in the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival.
“I have two movies. Hindi ko alam kung pwede ko sabihin. Yung isa Shake Rattle and Roll and the other one, I’m not sure yet,” he was quoted as saying.

He previously had supporting roles in the 2013 movies She's The One and The Bride and the Lover.
Daniel says he will never forget his stint as a housemate in the Kapamilya Network's reality show.
“Si Lord na ang bahala. It was a great experience. I’ve never learned so much in my life in a hundred days. Something na I’ll be grateful for the rest of my life.”
